Benny Diforza's Pizza Information

If you find yourself wandering around Alexandria and craving a slice of pizza that hits all the right spots, Benny Diforza's Pizza is the place to go. Located at 1504b Mt Vernon Ave, this cozy pizzeria is a true gem in the heart of the city. It’s one of those spots that locals swear by, and it’s easy to see why once you walk through the door.

From the moment you step in, Benny Diforza’s feels like home. The atmosphere is casual and inviting, perfect for both a quick lunch or a relaxed dinner with friends. The smell of fresh dough and melting cheese greets you immediately, setting the tone for what’s to come. The interior isn’t overly fancy, but it has a warm charm with its simple, no-frills design. It’s clear that the focus here is on the food, and that’s exactly what you want when you’re in the mood for pizza.

The menu at Benny Diforza’s is packed with all your favorite pizza varieties, from classic Margherita to more inventive toppings. You can’t go wrong with their signature pies, but what really stands out is their dough-perfectly thin yet chewy, crisp on the edges but soft in the center. The sauce is flavorful but not overwhelming, complementing the cheese and toppings in a way that makes every bite satisfying.

Their specialty pizzas are where things get interesting. If you're in the mood for something with a little more flair, try the "Benny's Supreme" with pepperoni, sausage, peppers, onions, and olives. It’s a classic combo elevated by the freshness of the ingredients and the perfect balance of savory flavors. For something a bit more adventurous, the “Spicy Buffalo Chicken” pizza brings the heat with a zesty kick that pairs beautifully with a side of ranch dressing.

But Benny Diforza's isn’t just about pizza. The rest of the menu has plenty to offer, from subs and pasta dishes to salads that taste like they’re straight from the garden. Their garlic knots are a must-try-soft, buttery, and packed with flavor. If you’re feeling like mixing things up, go for the “Chicken Parmigiana” sub. It’s a generous portion, and the breading on the chicken is crispy, just the way it should be.

What really sets Benny Diforza's apart, though, is the service. The staff are friendly and quick to make you feel at home, whether you're grabbing a slice to-go or sitting down for a leisurely meal. They’re always happy to recommend a pizza or offer a few extra napkins if you’re indulging in one of their messy, delicious creations. Plus, the prices are reasonable, so it’s easy to return for another meal without breaking the bank.

Whether you're a pizza purist or someone who loves trying new combinations, Benny Diforza’s Pizza is the kind of place that makes you want to come back again and again. With great food, a relaxed vibe, and a neighborhood feel, it’s a perfect spot to satisfy your pizza cravings in Alexandria.

What People's Say About Place

It was a cool vibe. The pizza was HUGE. There are no appetizers. They only .ake pizza. The staff you can tell is still trying to figure it out on customer service and restaurant upkeep, but that is going to happen with a new spot. The one down fall is they get caught up in cursing during conversation when kids are present. Other than that the place is real chill.

Great service along with great pizza!! Always greeted warmly and given quick service. Love the throwback tunes playing and the relaxing atmosphere of this pizza joint. The pizza has always been consistently GIANT and delicious! Love the monthly rotating toppings as well as the garlic mushroom (with hot honey). Definitely give this spot a try if you want an Instagram worthy slice!

HUGE! I tried the Gyro pizza today and it did not disappoint...loved the tzatziki sauce for dipping. The wonderful young lady made a single slice of it for me, i was surprised as Ive never had a slice of specialty pizza made to order. Have tried the excellent NY Style HUGE pizza before and will definitely be back.

I had such a nice dinner here! Their pizza is one of the best I have had in NOVA. Also their beer selection is wonderful. Penelope and Austin were friendly and professional and gave great recommendations! Cannot wait to be back.

Benny’s is proof that sometimes the simplest things hit the hardest. No frills, no gimmicks—just massive New York–style slices and rotating specials that keep you coming back. The prices feel like a throwback to another era, especially when you realize just how much pizza you’re holding. How massive? The photo says it all: my 6’3”, 240-pound friend looks like a kid struggling with a toy box when he holds one of their pies. A single slice could be lunch; a whole pie is practically a group event. On my visit, Ben (not related to the Benny) was running the show—friendly, helpful, and quick to make sure we got a taste of the month’s garlic mushroom special. He even hooked us up with a mango habanero chicken pizza that hit the sweet-heat balance just right. This is the kind of place that doesn’t need to pretend to be anything it’s not. Great pizza, great people, unbeatable value. If you’re in Virginia and hungry, don’t overthink it: Benny’s. Five stars.

TL,DR: Amazing pizza, massive slices, great vibe, great prices, definitely worth going to. This place is absolutely fantastic. I got a slice of cheese pizza, and when I tell you that this thing was massive, you can take that to the bank. Their slices are the size of two paper plates, and while you might think that it’s a gimmick, possibly to make up for an OK pizza, you’d be dead wrong. The pizza itself is amazing. The crust is foldable, it has a bit of crunch to it, but is also soft, and has a great texture. Taste wise, it’s also very solid, and doesn’t take away from the sauce or cheese, while also being a prominent flavor. For the sauce, it’s a pretty mild sauce, not super sweet or acidic, or too tomato-ey. As for the cheese, it melted great, tastes good, and was really solid. Very filling, and for only six bucks, you just can’t beat it. Now, as far as the atmosphere of the restaurant, it has an amazing vibe to it, and the staff running the place are awesome. I had a great conversation with the guy who made my pizza, And the decor of the restaurant as well as everything else just flowed right together. Nothing Felt out of place, or had any inclination of making me feel unwelcome. It feels like a place you can just walk in, and feel like you’ve been friends with everybody for years. This will definitely be one of my go to spots for lunch, And 100% my go to pizza spot When I’m near the area. Definitely worth stopping in and grabbing a bite, you won’t be disappointed.

Do not skip this review… Pizza is amazing!!! The best pizza in Virginia/DC. Hands down, I am from New York and tried countless places here and been disappointed every time with the exception of Mia’s in old town. This place tops it, amazing pizza and the sodas are really cold!!!! Slices are big, so if you and your partner are foodies, get 3 and split the third! Highly recommend as a fellow New Yorker!

The food was really good, and quick and good service. Had a really good experience and I highly recommend. At the restaurant they have a challenge, of if you can finish a whole 28 inch cheese pizza in 28 minutes you get $280 dollars. Highly recommend
